I was inspired by Jurassic Park to create a motion ride featuring dinosaurs. I chose two dinosaurs to feature: the Tyrannosaurus rex and a Triceratops. Both of these dinosaurs lived at the end of the Cretaceous, so I named my ride Cretaceous Park. The story behind it is that the viewer is transported back through to time in an exploration vehicle to explore a forest filled with dinosaurs. After encountering a Triceratops, the exploration vehicle goes haywire and swerves through the forest. It then comes upon a Triceratops being hunted by a T. rex, and the vehicle narrowly flees. At this point, it is recalled to the present. The forest is kept dark to help create a mysterious and foreboding atmosphere.
The gate swings toward the viewer a bit before opening in.
The gate accelerates and decelerates in both directions. The viwer also eases in to the path, not immediately going to speed, and then eases in at the end when it slightly accelerates to get past the T. rex.
The gate swings through an arc and the viewer moves through turns in an arc.
